2023 Montague Soapbox RACER Application

Thank you for registering with the Montague Soapbox Races, a fundraiser for the Montague Parks & Recreation Department.

Race Day is Sunday, September 17th, 2023.
SIGN UP DEADLINE IS Wednesday, September 13th at 4:00 PM

Fill out this application and pay via credit card (through PayPal), or send us a check for the entry fee and signed waiver to Montague Soapbox Races, c/o Montague Parks & Recreation Dept., 56 First Street, Unity Park Fieldhouse, Turners Falls, MA 01376. Applications must arrive no later than noon on Wednesday, September 13th, 2023. You will NOT be able to register on race day. Only the first 60 applications will be accepted. Entrants under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Applications without a signed waiver will not be accepted. No exceptions. Racers should also read the RACER RULES, which is required reading for the race.

Montague Soapbox Races Waiver

I plan to build and drive a Soapbox Cart, to be entered in the Montague Soapbox Races ("Races") being held in Montague, Massachusetts, on Sunday, September 17th, 2023, and hereby certify that I will build my Soapbox Cart in full compliance and spirit with the Races Rules.

Further, I understand and agree that as a prerequisite to competing in the Montague Soapbox Races that I, together with my Soapbox Cart, shall undergo and pass an inspection conducted in the Staging Area by Officials of the Montague Soapbox Races.

I further understand and agree that such inspection shall be conducted using the manner and methods deemed appropriate by the Race Officials at their sole discretion, to determine compliance with the rules, spirit and specifications applicable to the Races, and that the decisions of the officials regarding qualification and disqualification and compliance with the rules, spirit and specifications applicable to the Races shall be final and binding upon me and all other parties.

As this is a public event, I also acknowledge that photos will very likely be taken of the event and posted on social media and local newspapers, and video will be taken by MCTV for broadcast on Montague's public access channel 17.

I acknowledge that I have read and understand the policies and procedures explained herein, and in enrolling myself or my child in the Races, that he/she/they has my permission to participate in all activities associated with the Races, and that I, for my own account, and on behalf of both child and parents for any registered child, hereby agree to release, remise, indemnify and hold harmless the Town of Montague, Parks and Recreation Department, all of their officers, staff and agents, from any claim of liability related to any accident, injury, incident, illness or loss that may occur during the Races.
