Slight modification to the vehicle weight limit rule, and information about track conditions
After consulting with race professionals residing in Montague, we have determined that a static dry-weight limit for vehicles provides an unfair advantage to heavier drivers. Duh! Of course.
Kid Class Racers, 8 years to 12 years old: combined driver and vehicle weight must not exceed 200 pounds.
Teen Class Racers, 13 years to 19 years old: combined driver and vehicle weight must not exceed 300 pounds.
Adult Class Racers, 20 years and older: combined driver and vehicle weight must not exceed 400 pounds.
It is permissible to add weights to your vehicle, either as sand bags or whatever, as long as they are securely affixed to the vehicle and will not slide or fly off.
The yellow speed-bump on 1st Street has reappeared, and it will remain in place during the Race. This is an obstacle that all Teen and Adult Racers must overcome. it is approximately 3 inches high and is made of hard plastic. Carts made with skate wheels WILL NOT be able to get over the bump.
In addition, to help reduce Adult racer speeds along the final stretch, the Race Organizers will introduce haybale chicaneries on the track, forcing racers to zig-zag their way down the track after the hill and main turn end.
Good luck!
