Montague Soapbox Race Date is Set

Sunday, September 19th, 2010, at high noon, Turners Falls, MA

The Montague Soapbox Race Committee has chosen the date of the downhill race:

Applicants to participate in the race must be at least 8 years old. Adults are encouraged to participate as well.

Vehicles can be of any construction. No limit to your imagination. Only one rider per vehicle. Vehicles can be no longer that 10' long and must have at least three wheels.

Vehicles must be GRAVITY propelled. No motors or any propulsion of any kind. Vehicles must have working breaks, enough to stop them on the hill.

Riders must wear standard helmets (3/4 helmet ok) as well as gloves and elbow pads. Keep in mind that vehicles could reach speeds of up to 30 mph depending on total weight and starting point.

Vehicles will be judged on distance and creativity. Bonus points for audio components and costumes.
